Julio César Morales: The Pioneer of Responsible Tourism in Potosí

A Team Committed to Sustainable Development

It is now operated by former local miner Julio César Morales Zambrana, the pioneering tour guide in Potosí who started the tourist activity in 1988. Julio is actively fighting to improve conditions for miners (see Lonely Planet and other guides) We are a diverse group of local guides fascinated by the natural and cultural history of Potosí and convinced that carefully operated travel and ecotourism experiences contribute to sustainable development in our poor region and also in our people.

As we’ve grown over the years, we’ve engaged with a cast of wonderful, creative, and committed characters who share a common passion: to provide high-quality, responsible travel experiences in this region for visitors from around the world.
